Dr. Mehrabi studied at the University of California, Los Angeles, earning his bachelor’s degree in psychology with satisfactory completion of a pre-med course.
After UCLA, Dr. Mehrabi joined the microbiology and immunology laboratory of Dr. Sarkis Mazmanian at the California Institute of Technology, working on autoimmune disease in animal models. He has co-authored a research paper, ‘The Protective Role of Bacteroides fragilis in a Murine Model of Colitis-Associated Colorectal Cancer’ in the American Society for Microbiology.
After finishing his research project at Caltech, Dr. Mehrabi enrolled at the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California, earning his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine.
He completed his surgical residency at West Covina Medical Center, with additional clinical and surgical training at Keck Hospital of USC, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, and LA Downtown Medical Center. His residency experience included advanced training in diabetic wound care, limb-salvage, and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.
His areas of expertise include the treatment and management of ankle fractures, tendon rupture/tendonitis/tendonosis, as well as diabetic foot care, ulcer and wound management, bunion and hammertoe correction, and ingrown toenail treatment. Dr. Mehrabi is board-qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM) and is a proud member of the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA).
